Apple Watch 10 Rumors: What we know so far

Apple Watch 10 Rumors What we know so far

2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch, and the Apple Watch Series 10 is set to launch alongside the new iPhone 16 in September. Relevant revelations show that the new Apple Watch may be named Apple Watch X like the iPhone X, and the design will be refreshed, and the features and configuration will also be a major upgrade.

Let’s take a look at the information leaked by other medias about Apple Watch Series 10.

Apple Watch X: Bigger screen, slimmer design

91mobiles has released CAD drawings of the new Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Series 10 looks the same as the Apple Watch Series 9, the crown and Action button are still located on the right side, and the speaker hole still on the left.

The most obvious change is that the new Apple Watch 10 has a larger display, measuring 2 inches, which is even larger than the Apple Watch Ultra.

Apple Watch X Bigger screen, slimmer design

Regarding the size of the Apple Watch X, two tech reporters have different opinions:

  • According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch X will feature a thinner casing and a new magnetic accessory (similar to MagSafe).
  • Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicts that the Apple Watch X will be thinner and have a larger screen, with the 41mm model being upgraded to 45mm and the 45mm model being enlarged to the same 49mm as the Apple Watch Ultra.

Apple Watch X: Magnetic bands

The current Apple Watch band is attached in a slide-in design. All Apple Watches since its release have adopted this design, which has the benefit of being compatible with different models, but also has some negative effects. The large band slot take up more space that could be reserved for the battery and other components, which can be a waste of space on the watch.

Therefore, Apple Watch X may feature a new band connection. According to insiders involved in the development of Apple Watch, Apple Watch X may adopt a magnetic band attachment, but not many details have been disclosed. The magnetic band attachment may bring a more convenient experience. However, this also means that the existing Apple Watch bands may no longer be compatible with the new Apple Watch X.

Apple Watch X: MicroLED display

In terms of configuration, as previously reported by The Elec, this year's new Apple Watch will be upgraded with an OLED display, using new low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) technology. The addition of this technology can further reduce the power consumption of the screen.

Apple Watch X: New health tech

Apple is developing new health sensors for the watch, and it's been revealed that the new sensors will offer high blood pressure detection and sleep apnea detection, with a new Vitals app introduced in watchOS 11 to keep tabs on your sleep data.

The sleep apnea detection feature will be launched as early as this year. It works similarly to most other health features of the Apple Watch. It will monitor the user's sleep and breathing to predict whether the user has the disease and recommend that they receive further diagnosis from a doctor.

As previously reported by Bloomberg, the Apple Watch X will also introduce new sensors for the blood pressure monitoring feature, which can detect trends in blood pressure at any time, and if a user's blood pressure is trending upward, they will receive a notification alerting them to the change and advising them to schedule an appointment with a doctor for a checkup.

Whether as an accessory or a motion detection device, the Apple Watch is a perfect fit. It doesn't have to be, but the icing on the cake of the Apple Watch has made many users feel that joy.

With the 10th anniversary of Apple Watch coming up, let's look forward to what kind of gift Apple will present. Will you upgrade your Apple Watch this year?
